Chocolate Orange Cupcakes with Orange Buttercream Recipe

I make these cupcakes every Christmas for my family and me, they are my favourite!  Rich, chocolate orange sponge with sweet orange flavour buttercream.

The cupcake recipe makes around 12 – 14 cupcakes.   The buttercream recipe is a full batch, which will decorate between 20 – 24 cupcakes depending on your design.  If you’re only making 12 cupcakes, you could half the buttercream ingredient quantities.
